Winter continues....

It is either cold...and I mean cold, or there is snow, and more snow.  As pretty as it can be, and I do like winter, enough all ready!!   But one looks for the best in EVERY season.  Surrounding yourself with "warm" things of color and textures helps alot.  I have two of these, found at a yard sale quite a while ago.  Throws that make a perfect tablecloth!

Love the colors against the black background.  Makes me want to make granny squares, which I like to do, I just hate putting them together!

This is the finished cardigan that went to my youngest granddaughter for Christmas, cute, 2007 was the coming out of the "knitted" scarves and hand warmers closet! Still love those things.  But I have moved to sweaters, cardigans, stitching charts...... This year I will continue to challenge myself in the knitted clothing category. 

I have many projects of the moment going.  A tea cozy or 2, one is for a swap I am in...Lisa it's coming!

A chevron scarf is in the works, I tend to like mine long so that I can wrap around or "tie".  It's growing!

I found this cup cozy pattern on line.  It is adorable, and it really keeps your tea or coffee to temperature longer.

I have four made so far, decided to take a break from them a work on chevron scarf some more!

I will have better pictures later, I don't want everything clear yet.....

Here is a part of a "surprise", for someone.

I always say I do too many things, and I enjoy them all, many different mediums.  Quilting is in there too. This is a quilt that my daughter, Angie and I did for her son, Carsen.  He now uses it on his...queen crib...has he call it. A combination of his Mom hearing queen for there bed and that is big to him and his crib, that he so was ready to get out of...his Mom said he just one day said crib out.... and started pulling at it to go out of the room.  Kids they are smarter at knowing what isn't time for than we realize!

To finish, this is the other granny square throw, a variegated yarn was used in this one.  I really like the effect it gives to the design!  This one is on my other table!

Snow Art

We started out January with some mild temps, all that snow that we had has pretty well melted.  We got some more last night and this morning.  I can handle this much, even though I like a good part of what winter is.  This year it has shown itself to be a winter wonderland!

This was from the light dusting we just got. I just love how it changes you normal items into something special!

Garden Art...gotta love it!

I am still full steam ahead on knitting the Michael Kors cape.  It's growing and have been on the decreasing rows  for a bit now!  It has kept me on my toes though!  But my hope is that it will be worth it!!

I even managed to squeeze in knitting an angora head band.  It compliments the hand warmers that I made around Christmas, out of a Nashua yarn.

I managed to list the projects that I would like to accomplish over 2008.

It it alittle ambitious, when I consider knitting isn't the only thing I do!  But goals set seem to bring more things done than not.

There are also those little joys one likes. Like hand knit wash cloths, hand warmers, one can never have enough!  Scarves, shawls, or wraps. 

Aah, a new year

The tree is down and put away. It is a relief....that is not to say that I didn't have joyful moments, I did, I was so pleased that all my children and families could be together.   That, for me is the best Christmas present...EVER!  Sharing the time, the day, opening presents, watching their faces, and smiles.  Eating a gorgeous meal among wonderful ambiance.  Angie! You did more than well and I am so proud and pleased at who you are, and what you manage....I know....I understand...and you are loved!!!    Yes I love all my children, their spouses, I think of as my very own....each special in their own way.... the lovely grandkids they have given me to enjoy! All special, all unique. Just could squeeze the whole lot of you!!! Ha Ha!!

Anyway am finding ways to enjoy the cold of January...feeding and watching the birds is one!

They are just so cute and fun to watch. Cardinals, both male and female. Junco's, lots of those, the snow birds as they are also called are just so cute to me!

When I do my painting, nature is one of the things that I just love to paint, and my wildlife of choice is always the songbirds!

We received a new bird feeder for Christmas and I just love it, more importantly the birds are flocking to it!

So out my patio door is a winter wonderland filled with birds, and song!

Knitting is, of course on the list. You would think that I would have gotten my fill over the Christmas season. But, no!  I love it, it is relaxing, and focusing, so here is MY project, that wiles away the winter blues.  The cold, along with a fire burning in the fireplace and maybe a glass of wine, and music!

It's starting to grow, I will just keep on it...the setting up initially was a bit of job, but I seem to be on my way....

My window-scape in the living-room.   The view of snow and trees, and the table-scape went  together so well.  One needs to decorate with each season to enjoy each season to its fullest. We are a people who need change, and most crave something to inspire them and pull them towards what is really their calling in life....what they were created for.  We all have gifts and talents....it's hard when one is working 24-7. But there will be a season when ...you become...and...are! Then lookout!  Confidence in who you are will emerge.  Your energy will skyrocket, and you will say and know that all IS well with the world...even if nothing really changes...you have...so go...and be...you can...your made too....seek and you will find...ask and it shall be given...dare to hope...you will not be disappointed....give and it will come back to you...these are things, laws that have been set up in the universe by God himself....  So let yourself "spill out" you won't be sorry! If others don't like it, it's because they aren't there and they are just jealous anyway and caught up in their own small world of me and I, judgment and pride....
